What are the cons of modern marketing?

Modern marketing depends on external data sources where campaigns rely on data providers for audience targeting and insights. Campaigns use audience segments, behavioral signals, and demographic data supplied by ad platforms and third-party providers, often without clear visibility into how this data is collected or refreshed. As a result, reliance on these sources reduces control over targeting accuracy, creates gaps when data becomes outdated or restricted, and makes performance dependent on systems outside direct control.
